★KendraAfter being a stay-at-home mom for almost 3 years, I returned to work full-time and enrolled my son in Big Fish Academy (formerly Little Lambs) based on recommendations. He has speech and developmental delays, isn’t potty trained, and this was his first time in full time childcare, so I voiced concerns about him adjusting. I was assured he would be supported. The first 3 weeks brought a few biting incidents, which shocked us since he had never done this at home. We had a 45-minute meeting with the directors and his teacher where we all created a plan to help when he felt overwhelmed (like using sensory bins). We left that meeting confident and relieved in how it was handled. For over a week, there were no issues. Then, on Friday 9/12, I got multiple texts that my son had bitten and hit, he was in the office and needed to be picked up immediately. I repeatedly apologized, but within 30 minutes I was told he was suspended for the upcoming week (9/15–9/19) and warned of expulsion if it happened again. This was never mentioned in our prior meeting. The tone shifted from wanting to help him adjust to him obviously not being wanted there. We feel deeply misled. Our little one was given barely a month to adjust before being pushed out. We supplied $100+ of classroom needs and I made homemade gifts for staff just to feel unappreciated and unwelcome. If your child is autistic, has delays or struggles adjusting, please know this school was not supportive for our family.

I especially love their sweet staff and teachers who have been so caring with our little one. They really care for the children there as if they're one of their own.
