League safety is a real concern here. There are players who consistently play recklessly, and there’s little to no intervention from refs or organizers. The organizers always deflect responsibility by trying to make the refs liable, even when multiple players make reports about a specific player that injured someone and asking for something to be done. That lack of control allows games to escalate and puts players at risk. I was injured on a challenge from a player who had already committed multiple fouls that should have resulted in at least two yellow cards earlier in the match. No disciplinary action was taken. Was told to just make a report on the ref, which does nothing to the player who goes on with no consequences Other leagues take player safety more seriously and review incidents to prevent repeat behavior. That kind of accountability is missing here. If safety matters to you, I’d strongly consider other leagues.

They do nothing about reckless players who repeatedly play dirty and even injure other players. Very poor control of the games and the lack of intervention causes aggression to spiral out of control. They refused to induce any disciplinary action on a player who severely injured my knee, a player who should have had two yellow cards before his challenge on occurred. The refs AND league organizers in other leagues outside of BASL care much more about safety and will review cases to implement disciplinary actions to discourage other players from playing dirty or allowing the game to get out of control, I suggest joining their leagues instead

I signed up a week ago for my son. They sent out schedule for practice on Wednesday and Fridays, it never said who they report to or if there is just one team. I emailed them and never heard anything. I emailed the main email address and was sent to the same email address I sent an email before. No communication at all.

Have been playing in BASL since I moved here out of town, they have a free agent portal for people who don’t know anyone. Hooked up with teams that I still play with and made some life long friends. Best league in the area without a doubt. Obviously there are player and ref issues but those are sorted as professionally and efficiently as they can. After all, it is a very competitive league if you choose those specific divisions and things can get hot! They also have co Ed and corporate divisions which makes a nice change from what I am used to in Open (and now over 30)
