The Bascom Community Center is a City of San Jose community center at 1000 S. Bascom Ave. that hosts Camp San Jose, a weeklong summer day camp for kids. Campers do games, sports, arts and crafts and songs, with a roughly 1:10 leader-to-child ratio; families send lunch, water and sunscreen daily. Sessions run week by week across the summer. It is a municipal, low-cost recreation program.

★★★Lester LOverall, Bascom community Center is a very nice facility. The gym and the main community room are okay. However, the fitness center is far from what I would expect. There are several machines that are out of order and some other that are not working and they don't have a sign where it says that they are not working. The place is small but I can deal with that. But I mean you have a small space and on top of that several machines are not working so that's a letdown for me.
