Augusta Community Sailing is the youth and community sailing arm of the Augusta Sailing Club, running five-day summer sail camps for ages 8-17 on Clarks Hill Lake in June and July. The full-day Adventure Sailing camp teaches water safety, sailing and paddling fundamentals; half-day camps take sailors from beginner to intermediate Open Skiff, 420 and race team, and a two-day Georgia DNR Boater Safety course lets students earn state boater certification. Through a partnership with the Spirit of America Foundation's national youth boating education program, middle and high schoolers can also take a youth boating course on the lake. Camps run at the club's site at 5462 Sailing Rd, Appling, with US Sailing certified instructors.
