Association Retreat Center - The ARC

I've never been here but it would be really cool to visit sometime and just walk around the grounds. My dad use to serve at this base back in the mid 1950s. He met my mom while stationed there. It use to be an old Cold war radar site and had if I remember correctly 3 Doppler radars. I think it closed down sometime after the Vietnam conflict ended. All the guys stationed there use to hold an all base reunion at a facility close to there where all of the service men and women who served through the years could come together and share stories and experiences with each other and their families. I don't know if they still have the reunions or not. I haven't been to one since the late 80s. Pretty cool history though and it's great to see the place being kept up so well and in great use!

No family restrooms, unless you count the dorms. Very good scenery and this place is almost like a second home for me. I've come here for a weekend once a year ever since I was born. There's a nice gym with a stage and basketball & volleyball stuff in there. And a canteen that sells candy, Bibles, T-shirts/sweatshirts, supplies, drinks, and frozen treats like popsicles. There's also a ball field with bleachers. It also has a pokestop and gym for Pokemon Go, which I always did with my brother growing up. Not much of a fan of conservative evangelicalism (which is what is usually taught here) since I'm more non-denominational, but this place is very lovely nonetheless. Oh, and the human-sized foosball pit is fun. Just wish there were enough people to join me to play lol. There's a man-made beach at a pond that has 2 waterslides and a diving deck, and playground equipment on the beach, along with volleyball and a pavilion. Speaking of playground equipment, other than the beach, there's 2 playgrounds, one of which is specifically made for before-school-age children. And the history of this place is cool. Used to be an airforce base, and you can see that in a lot of the buildings, especially the dorms. The Tabernacle has absolutely no cellular connection, and I think it was made like that on purpose due to its history of military. Anyway I'm rambling now lol.

This is a unique place. We were here for my kids basketball game. Full court rubber floor. It sits on 70 acres with a pond for swimming a bunch of outbuilding dorms for up to 500

I have stayed at the ARC countless times. The food is good, coffee is readily available and everyone is eager to take good care of you. Once I forgot to bring my own bedding, but they have it available and it was on my bed before I got to the room! Some of the sleeping quarters are better than others, but if you know that there are no surprises. God has really blessed this place and the current staff is doing a great job honoring Him and their guests here. Looking forward to my next visit!

Our extended family gets together here for Christmas every year. The staff is welcoming and helpful, and the facilities are well-maintained. We love the sleeping accomodations. The gym has something for all ages. I would recommend the campground to anyone looking for a family-friendly place to meet.
