The Asheville Sailing Club, a nonprofit on Lake Julian in Arden, runs youth summer sailing camps that teach kids sailing skills through hands-on, on-the-water instruction. Age-grouped programs include Start Off Sailing (ages 5-7, two to a boat), Beginner Opti (ages 8-9, single-handed Optimist dinghies) and Junior Sailing (ages 9-16), with morning and afternoon sessions. Camp is open to sailors roughly ages 5-18.
