Powered by GoogleMy son absolutely loves Art School of SF bay. He’s always drawing and doodling and we decided to try art classes so we signed him up for a Manga/Comic class in San Jose. He absolutely loves his teacher and learned a ton of new tricks and got to use mediums he hadn’t used before. He really enjoyed some structured art time where he could learn but also chat with other kids and share what they created. Highly recommend!!
I took a few classes at the Art School of SF Bay, including Key Elements, Academic Drawing, Human Anatomy, and Inking with Andrew. The school offers a supportive and inspiring environment for artists of all levels, and the classes are well-structured to help you grow. Andrew is an understanding and encouraging teacher, and the lessons not only helped me improve as an artist but also reignited my joy in creating. After just a few sessions, I decided to sign up for Figure Drawing and Open Studio, which I am currently attending. I would highly recommend the Art School of SF Bay and Andrew to anyone looking to develop their skills and passion for art.
Having painted abstract compositions in the past, I was excited to take the class, learn some theory and make some paintings. Class was in the form of an hour of interactive lecture, followed by an hour of painting, except for the last two (of six) classes, which were focused on creating and finishing a complete painting, with some assistance and guidance from Maria, who was both encouraging and helpful. I will definitely be doing more paintings on my own in the near future!
Highly recommend the Academic Drawing class, which I took with instructors Maria and Jeff. Their instruction and detailed critique really helped me understand the concepts of academic drawing and art as a whole, and led to a newfound appreciation of values and perspective and polishing one's own artistry. The facilities and open studio hours are very accommodating, supportive, and a comforting space to explore art and improve on skills. 10/10!
My husband and I took the Adult Art class with Sara S. for 12 weeks during Fall 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed our class with her. She would start the class with a small lecture and demo and then release us to try on our own. Then she would walk around to assist and provide tips for us to improve. This is where she really exceled! She was great at analyzing our paintings and trouble areas and getting us on the right path quickly. For my first art class ever in my life, I have gained a greater appreciation for artists now. Sara is also very calming and chill in her mannerism, and she would hum a gentle tune as she helps us. We learned many different types and techniques. We learned about the skeletal structure and the body shapes and perspectives. We learned vanishing points, scale, shading, and proportions. We also got to draw a live model. It was a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!
