Powered by Google✨ Art Escape Pottery Retreat Review ✨ Taking Steve’s pottery class has been one of the most grounding and inspiring experiences I’ve had in a long time 🌟 His calm presence, patience, and genuine love for the craft create an atmosphere where everyone feels both welcomed and encouraged 🌿 Even as a beginner, I never once felt out of place — Steve explains every step with such clarity and kindness that the whole process feels natural and peaceful ✨ There’s something magical about how he combines technique with mindfulness, reminding us to slow down and really connect with the clay. It feels like a little escape — a quiet conversation between hands, heart, and earth🙌 I’ve learned so much more than pottery here; I’ve learned presence, patience, and appreciation for imperfection. Steve has a gift not only for teaching but for inspiring creativity and confidence in others. I left the class feeling calm, fulfilled, and deeply grateful🩵
Had a most enjoyable week with Steve at the pottery studio. It had been 50 years since I worked with clay, so two things were important to me about my week with Steve. (1) He provided a wonderful introduction to using the potter's wheel, and (2) he gave unrestricted access to the studio for as much practice as I wanted to do, which allowed me to just play with the clay and to get a "feel" for working with it. Thanks, Steve. It was a wonderful week.
Spent 10 days at Art Escape Retreat and enjoyed the time with Steve and Elizabeth. Steve’s time teaching offered ways to engage with clay without stress or anxiety over results. The extended gave us studio time to continue practicing and developing skills.
We had such a fun time with Steve at Art Escape! He worked with my 3 daughters, 14, 10 and 7. He captivated them all with his opening explanation and demonstration. When my youngest was tiring of being on the wheel Steve quickly transitioned her to hand building and she loved her entire lesson! My other two girls loved playing on the wheel and can’t wait to get their hands back in the mud!! Thank you!!
Fantastic!!! My wife and I took two teen granddaughters and their cousin to Art Escape for a break from skiing. It was amazing!! We all had SO much fun they didn't want to leave. Steve was really engaging and encouraging. He creates a very relaxing and creative environment. The studio is in a beautiful spot and with the snow falling outside and the bubbling fountains inside made from the pieces Steve made - it truly feels like a sanctuary . It was a really great and memorable family activity and I would highly, highly recommend it.
