Art Dept Studios
Private
Art Dept Studios offers summer art camps for children roughly ages 6-12 at its Bucks County locations (including Doylestown and Newtown). Camps use weekly themes and small class sizes, with half- and full-day options: mornings focus on clay sculpting and the pottery wheel, afternoons rotate through a different medium each day, and full-day campers do both. Themes include pottery, painting and jewelry making.

Powered by GoogleI took my granddaughter . It was difficult to decide what we wanted to do. So many mediums to choose from. We started with painting ceramic items. The color hues were vast and made deciding difficult. We talked as we worked about what we wanted to do next. We decided to try a glass on glass tray/dish. Alexandra chose the glass colors for a sun setting over the ocean. She cut blues, greens, white for the ocean and Yellow orange for the sun shades of red, pink and lavender For the sky. We have to wait 2-3 weeks to pick up our pieces. There was only one woman working and there were 16 clients hard at work. We got a lot of gels she was patient with our minor questions and concerns. I would recommend Art Dept for a fun and stress reducing activity. We are thinking about trying pottery wheel classes, next!
The 1x Pottery Class was a lot of fun!! Everyone in our group really enjoyed and we made some cute pottery bowls!! Can’t wait to return to paint!!
This was a fun date night experience. The instructor was incredibly helpful, patient and our results looked amazing. Looking forward to going back to paint them!
My 3 daughters and I have taken the 1x on the wheel pottery class and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our instructor yesterday was Aggie and she was clear with her directions, very encouraging and friendly. We each made 3 pieces (which is a miracle to me for beginners) and are looking forward to painting them after firing. It's so much fun to do as a group and in my opinion, an excellent value. You leave with such a sense of accomplishment!! I highly recommend this studio and their 1x on the wheel pottery class!
I took the 4-week beginner wheel class with Ange and I had such a great experience. The wheel was harder than I anticipated but I stuck with it and was really happy with how my pieces came out. The 4 classes are to make the pottery so plan for a day to return to glaze and then another to pickup after firing. I went back with my family and we had a fun afternoon glazing pottery together. I cannot recommend highly enough.
