APEX Denver at 700 W. Mississippi Avenue, Unit A5 is the Denver gym of APEX Movement, which started Parkour training in Boulder in 2006 and opened its downtown Denver gym in 2009. It runs active, beginner-friendly full-day parkour camps for kids and teens ages 7-14, with coaches meeting students at their level. Year-round classes cover parkour for kids (6-11), teens (12-17) and adults, a Parkour Tots program introducing movement to ages 3-5 with a grown-up, and specialty classes in Ninja Warrior, obstacle course racing, tricking, circus, aerial dance, flexibility and strength.

★★★★★Rachel BarnardIf you like a shared space gym that's packed full of fun things - then this is the place to be! I felt both completely out of my element and right at home as a traveling aerialist. The space is compact and looks like a parkour gym with a little bit of this and a little bit of that tucked away in every corner (even a fairly full-looking weights area in the front of the building outside of the parkour area). The other students looked like they were very comfortable in the space and the other students in my (Chinese pole) class were very nice and we played around together after our class which was awesome! The instructor did a great job moving the class along and bringing everything up/down in difficulty depending on the individual student. I loved trying out this new apparatus in such an encouraging and judgement-free place. I'll be back next time I'm in town.

My sons been training for a couple years with Inlet Parkour but we don't have a gym yet. So Damien was amazing on the phone while I was planning the trip, and so helpful in person. Then on to Kai (spelled right I hope), who taught a freerunning class. He was knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging. After that class my son did the 2 hour open gym. Any questions were answered, support from other athletes, watching people train on silks, huge wall tramps and trapeze was very entertaining. I can't say enough about the staff! It's great to see that in my experience that no matter where we travel, the parkour community is the same. Apex Denver is a place not to be missed!
