AMP (Applied Music Programs) runs AMPCAMP, a high-energy week-long rock, pop, and metal band day camp for young musicians in Salt Lake City. Over five days campers rotate through four bands daily, learn songs in rehearsals and workshops with guest artists, and close with a public showcase concert featuring professional lights and sound. Programs serve roughly ages 7-19, with monthly payment plans and scholarships available.

Powered by GoogleSLAM has changed my sons life for the better. His musical skills have grown exponentially. He got to drum at the Maverick center and play all over the city. The best thing about it is the friends and bandmates he has met. His teacher Zakk inspires new music ideas and pushes him to new skill levels. He now plays the drums, bass and guitar as well as singing. We are forever fans of Salt Lake Academy of Music and are happy to be part of the Slamily.
SLAM has been an incredible experience, taking on my then 4-year-old for Violin instruction with Dante, who is not only patient and supportive with my little guy, he's inspired him to want to be in a band just like Dante! Can't wait to see his skills and passion unfold under Dante's guidance...and to get his little brother started on lessons of his choosing soon!
As a senior member of the Salt Lake Academy of Music student body, I have enjoyed my two years of being a student. As a mandolin player, I found the staff friendly and supportive. My instructor, Dante, is knowledgeable and extremely patient. The director, Steve, is friendly and very genuine with all the students. I encourage all aspiring musicians to attend the Salt lake Academy of Music.
We LOVE SLAM!! Steve is incredibly passionate, encouraging and always connects with my kid. The instructors are actual working musicians, who spend countless hours wholeheartedly mentoring SLAM's budding young musicians! Definitely send your kids here!!! (loving momma of SLAM drum student for several years now!)
If you have been thinking about music lessons, DO IT!!!! I love singing but have always been terrified to do it in front of people. SLAM gave me the space to feel safe learning new skills and and to improve my voice. Not only does SLAM give me singing skills, I can honestly say it has positively impacted my life having their support to get out of my comfort zone. I feel more confident and less afraid to just be me. I didn't expect that from singing lessons. :)
