The Alex O'Brien Tennis Foundation is an Amarillo nonprofit that runs a free summer tennis camp at Memorial Park, open to children of all skill levels and meeting Monday through Friday from 9am to noon. Founded in 1998 by Amarillo native and former pro Alex O'Brien, the foundation exists to put rackets in the hands of Texas Panhandle kids who would not otherwise be able to play. It partners with the City of Amarillo on the long-running 'Tennis in the Parks' program and with Kids, Incorporated on a low-cost junior program whose $50 fee covers four program dates, a shirt, a racket the child keeps and an end-of-year medal.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Alex O'Brien Tennis Foundation directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.
