Ahimsa Village
Private
Ahimsa Village is a vegan homestead and education center near State College (Julian, PA), part of a School of Living community land trust, that has offered a 'green living' summer camp focused on organic/veganic gardening and sustainable living. Archived materials suggest the camp may not have run continuously in recent years, so current operation is uncertain.

How quickly one can slip into a yogic state at Ahimsa where it is so beautiful and natural! The gardens are incredible. They are full of vegetables of various sorts and there are fruit trees and an orchard full of berries. How often does one get to meditate in yurts and stroll up hills in the forest to draw and write and see shiitakes growing out of logs? Bob and Kelle are compassionate people who show us what it really means to be green. I hope everyone seeking peace and a more natural way will get to come to an event, or just come out for a day and garden or learn to make make syrup at Ahimsa.
My wife and I have been to the village on several occasions to see their beautiful gardens and attend potlucks. What they are doing in the Gardens is very impressive because it’s being done Veganicly without the use of animal Imput. We are impressed with the concept of preserving the land and having a light footprint on it. These are wonderful dedicated people leading the way forward.
What a lovely, peaceful place of learning to live in harmony with nature! Kelle's veganic farm is a model to learn from, walks in the forest for quiet meditation surrounded by the calls of birds, and opportunities for good food and community.
I attended an educational event here on veganic gardening. There was a potluck and some of the people stayed overnight. It was a lot of fun, the food was delicious, and overall we had a great time. I highly recommend it. The people who run it are really great!
