YouthBASE is a Greenville nonprofit, founded in 2006, running an after-school and summer intervention program for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade who are referred by teachers at partner schools (A.J. Whittenberg, Hollis, Welcome, Monaview, and Alexander elementary). Enrolled students receive about 500 hours of individualized academic and social-emotional support; the summer program follows the same model with more time for educational field trips and cultural-arts enrichment. The organization also runs monthly Family Nights and a weekly Cafe de Madres group for Spanish-speaking mothers. Enrollment is by school referral rather than open registration.
