Young Pilot Camp is an aviation day camp run by Fly Legacy Aviation at Northeast Philadelphia Airport, for children roughly ages 6-15. Week-long sessions run weekdays 9am-4pm from mid-June to mid-August and cover principles of flight, aircraft, aviation safety, weather, and aerodynamics, culminating in a supervised introductory flight where each camper takes the controls.

He’s already an aviation enthusiast, but his eyes really lit up when I picked him up - “Mom, that was real flight school, my first one!”. Totally thrilled. The instructor was great, and he learned so much, between the activities and their time on the flight simulator. The weather was too stormy to do a discovery flight, but he loved it all the same and we are welcome back anytime to get the discovery flight completed.
