Powered by GoogleAll I was there for was to take a shower (hot water heater down). 🚿 Staff was very nice and the building was good. 🏨👍
Visited today on a day pass. Actually, I've been here a few times now and used the same day pass. I've had nothing but great experience with the front reception staff. My experience with the receptionist on today's visit was phenomenal . . just outstanding. I should have gotten her name; however, she was still at the front desk this morning when I left at 10:25am. We spoke briefly when I got there. She was friendly, engaged, I felt welcomed and I appreciate those, even though brief, few moments of conversation.
Today, my 4 children participated in a program at the Shelby Y. It seemed organized & the kids had fun! Mostly, I came here to comment on the staff. People make a company! And this one scored 10/10! Today, we were just inside the lobby when my daughter threw up. It was remnants of an asthma attack and I didn't realize she was still needing assistance. The ladies who helped me were awesome! They didn't make my girl feel gross or like she was sick. They treated her & I with kindness and like we still mattered as people. They must be moms. :-) When my daughter needed assistance later during the program and then decided she wanted to leave early, the staff was once again so kind. They suggested a 1-on-1 class so she could learn to control her breathing while swimming. I didn't even know this was an option & I love the suggestion! Every staff member was kind & seemed to really enjoy their job!
Continues to go down hill. Long time member at this location and now considering changing membership. Major concerns are the condition of the building, cleanliness and the mayhem with the after school crowd. Today there were numerous buckets throughout the fitness center catching water that was leaking through the roof and onto the floor. Second concern is the overall cleanliness of the facility. Lower locker rooms are always filthy. Toilet paper, urine and water throughout the boys locker room and a layer of dust covering the lockers that indicates to me no one ever cleans and wipes things down and on numerous occasions have used the fitness center to find mud and trash in the fitness center. Finally, the after school crowd is a bit cumbersome. They run wild throughout the building with little to no supervision. They occupy equipment in the fitness center just to play on their phones preventing others from using equipment. Update 12/30/25 Some improvements have been made. They have since fixed the leaky roof and the cleanliness has somewhat improved but there is still definately room for improvement.
The roof has been leaking for over 2 years. Every time it rains they put buckets out to catch the water. Where does I remember should money go to? A lot of the equipment is very old. The staff at the front desk are very friendly.
