YMCA of the Rockies' Estes Park Center is a nonprofit mountain retreat rooted in Christian principles, with more than 250 cabins, nine lodges and conference facilities for groups up to 2,600. Its summer day camp serves ages 3-17 with swimming, a hike in Rocky Mountain National Park, climbing wall sessions, archery, mini-golf, team sports, camp games, skits and songs, outdoor education, arts and crafts, and science and engineering projects. The center has served youth and families for over a century and also hosts Camp Chief Ouray, its resident camp.

You can hike into the National Park from YMCA rounds. Elk are ever present. I’ve stayed here twice; both times there have have been issues with a wrong room key. I stayed in the lodges which has two bunk beds and a double regular bed per room. Rooms are clean.
