Explorers Academy Preschool has been a tremendous support to my child’s development and learning. My child has attended for three years and I don’t believe we would have found a more supportive preschool that was so welcoming of his speech, occupational therapists and so forth. They provide positive emotional , social and communication skills to all who attend. Explorers may be small but they are mighty in the love and attention they give to each and every child. Check them out! Prisma Health employees receive a 10% reduction in monthly fees and they accept ABC Quality Vouchers! I hate leaving a one-star review on what seemed to be a promising preschool initially, but unfortunately, the situation warrants that. My husband and I decided it would be best to withdraw our two-year-old daughter from this center after numerous issues arose during her enrollment of only 1.5 months. She became constantly sick(nearly every other day), and her personality and mood changed significantly(she went from bubbly and giggling all the time to crying and screaming every time during drop off and pick up). She was always starving and thirsty when we picked her up from the center, even though the information in the Brightwheel app suggested that she had snacks and a meal. Yesterday, she came home with a large, red scratch mark/bruise on her chin. When I questioned what happened, Quinyetta(the African American female teacher with short, black curly hair) claimed she noticed it before nap time but had no idea what happened. I was not impressed with this answer whatsoever, and her lack of concern about my child being physically harmed did not sit well with me. I reached out to the administration via email & the Brightwheel chat and expressed my concerns(also asking for someone to reach out) but did not receive a callback. I notified the teacher, Quinyetta, that I would be withdrawing my daughter and that I would be by in the morning to pick up all of her things. I received a response, “Sure thing! I will have them ready for you in the morning.” I assumed with this response there was no animosity and that professionalism would remain intact, but unfortunately, that was not the case. This morning, when I went to pick up her things, they were outside left on a dirty weather-rotted bench, including her nap mat, coat, and pull-ups. I was disgusted by this behavior, making me ponder the overall care my child received at this center if this is how a “head teacher” is allowed to behave. My husband and I are new to the area and were hoping for this to be a positive and memorable first experience for our child, but subsequently, it has been anything but that.

We found world explorers right as my daughter was turning two. She has made the best memories and friends since she started last year! The staff and programming are next level- and can’t say enough wonderful things about Erica, Jaimie and Katie. Ms. Becca also makes incredible diverse foods for the kids. This school has been the best blessing for our family! Our daughter is growing into a little light helped shaped by her teachers here.
