My friend and I went to the glass blowing class to make garden bulbs. When we arrive, the instructors told us this was their first time using the larger glass bulbs so that we would all be learning together. Apparently they normally work with smaller glass bulbs to make Christmas ornaments. During the class, it was hard for multiple of us to get our bulbs “blow up” after heating. At the end, they offered for us to pick up our glass the next day if we didn’t want to wait for it to cool down. When we picked up our glass it was in a cute gift bag with tissue paper. When I got home, my glass bulb was broken. It was cracked right at the stem. Then the following day my second glass bulb cracked out of nowhere just sitting in on the table. So for $75 I got 1 glass bulb in the end out of 3, and the ones that broke were the ones that turned out best (actually blew up with air). My complaint is, as an instructor…why would you experience working with a new product for the very first time during a class that people paid money to attend? It’s not like we got some money back. I’m upset that our $75 spent was for an experiment. $75 dollars is pretty steep for a craft night and I’m very disappointed in how many of us didn’t have good turn outs… and then for them to just break. I feel as though more communication should have been used… they could have given us the option to go to a class some other time or gave us some money back for the inconvenience, or they should have worked with the glass ahead of time to figure out the exact proper heating methods instead of experimenting with two full classes back to back and wasting our time and money.

For Mother’s Day this year my wife and I took my mother and little brother to paint turtles. We had an AMAZING time. Our instructor was Daniel and he was so fun and kind and made the whole experience better! He took time to show us different projects that are offered and share stories and even stayed later to let us finish our paintings. He gave us step by step directions and was encouraging and funny the whole time! There were two other people there painting and it was a very nice and fun atmosphere. We would 1000% come back again!

We decided to take a class while we were in town. I’m not an artist by any means, so I was a bit nervous. Brittany helped instruct me in ways I couldn’t see how to bring my painting to life. The technique she showed me to make my moon more realistic was pretty awesome and I’m impressed with how my painting turned out. We will definitely be back when we’re in town again. Thanks for the experience!

We did "pop art pet portraits" last night with Penny. It was the perfect mother-daughter night! Painting our pets was very intimidating at first but Penny was super insightful and patient and gave us a lot of guidance during the process. She did an amazing job and made us super comfortable! Definitely recommend Wine and Design for all occasions!
