White Pass Ski Area

Compiled from public sources · October 2026

White Pass Ski Area is a ski area in the Cascade Range of Washington, 53 miles west of Yakima on U.S. Route 12, where families book lessons for young skiers through its website. In the 2025-26 season, its Kids' Clinic, a multi-week program for children ages 6 to 13, ran six-week sessions of full-day ski or snowboard instruction on alternating weekends, with lunch and a season pass included. The clinic coached freeride, freestyle and alpine racing and served as a stepping stone to the Team White Pass Development, Freeride and Alpine Racing programs. The locally owned ski area's new Base Camp Lodge, designed with families and beginner skiers in mind and home to a dedicated learning center and a fully stocked rental center, opens for the 2026-27 season.

White Pass is a great family friendly ski resort with a great staff. They have terrain for everyone and better snow than the other big resorts. My skibike is allowed there as well. Good fair rates too. Don't forget the Nordic center, with miles and miles of groomed trails. All around great Winter Adventure Resort.

I’ve been to many ski resorts across the US, and I can say, this is better than nothing. As a snowboarder I bottomed out many times, which sucks! That means the shape of the runs does not give you the downhill energy to keep you moving during all parts. I’ve never had this problem around the US. The lifts and lodge are great, they have kids lessons and a tubing area down the road. If you don’t get there early you will be in for a serious walk. Like could be a mile! So get there early for parking if anything. Customer service is great, lift ticket prices were under $100, but not by much. The run signs on the mountain need some serious upgrading. Signs are hard to see their names if you can find them at all. Even with a slope map, it was hard to tell where you were on the mountain. Overall fairly low quality mountain if you’ve been around ski resorts. But.. when there are not many options it will do. Beware of weather conditions.

We had such a great time at White Pass Ski Resort! It’s absolutely perfect for kids — manageable terrain, a relaxed vibe, and a really welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel safe and fun for the whole family. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a family-friendly mountain with great snow and kind people, White Pass is a win. We’ll definitely be back! ❄️🎿

Love this ski resort for kids learning how to ski/snowboard. They have 3 carpet runs that have very gradual slopes, perfect for beginners. The kids pricing for passes is very fair. We always have so much fun here!

This mountain is hands down my favorite place to ride. It’s always a guaranteed good time! fun with a laid-back atmosphere that feels real, not pretentious. Staff are amazing, always friendly, helpful, and genuinely love what they do, which makes the whole experience even better. What really sets this resort apart is the crowd (or lack of one). Normally no overcrowded choas and it feels like home the moment you arrive. Affordable in comparison to most resorts, welcoming, and consistently fun, this is the kind of place you keep coming back to season after season!! Not a corporate sell out.
