Westgate Recreation Center in Westgate Park is a City of Dothan Leisure Services facility with an indoor heated pool, gymnasium, fitness room and whirlpool, and it hosts Camp Choctaw, the department's summer day camp. Camp Choctaw mixes sports, games, field trips, arts and crafts, theme days and two weeks of free swim lessons. ★Kaitlin TylerI took my kids, a friend, and her daughter to the inside pool on Saturday. We were all so excited for the inside pool. When we got there the girl at the front was extremely nice, polite, & respectful! No complaints on her at all!! The 2 lifeguards & the supervisor Sarah-Grace Lockard was so rude! Lifeguards constantly telling my kids to stop running when they weren't running AT ALL!!! They were constantly watching ever move we made when we weren't doing anything but trying to have fun & enjoy our day. We only spent maybe 30mins here & will absolutely not be back! Thanks to Andrew Belle community center who was most definitely better!!

★janice parmerDothan Leisure services is a rip off. I dont understand why dothan won't allow a YMCA in the city. This city is too big not to have a functioning YMCA. It's a shame when you have a pool at westgate, however, you have to enter a lottery pool just to get into a water aerobic class.. Something is wrong with the system.

★★★★Cyndi HuffmanGosh this place is such a great local resource!!! A very reasonably priced fitness option for residents to have access to a gym, pool & more. We did the quarterly option which was very affordable at $55/total for TWO people! Includes the weight center, pool and whirlpool. Pool is awesome & found the open swim hours timing great! Spacious locker room with showers, private changing areas, restrooms & pay per use lockers. Staff was super helpful & friendly. Only suggestions would be that the locker rooms could used updated. Just a bit older (but ALWAYS very clean & neat). Also - just a safety suggestion - it would be helpful to have some floor mats in the lockers rooms. It’s hard to get your feet dried off and the floor not be slippery. Also, this is the first pool I’ve been at that did not have a swimsuit spinner in the locker rooms to wring out bathing suits. That would be a great addition. But overall - grateful for this local option & would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking it out! You won’t find a better place with so many options & so reasonable!
