The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks is a Springfield-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1984 to protect the water resources of Springfield and Greene County through education and watershed management. It operates the Watershed Center at Valley Water Mill Park, hosting school field trips and place-based water-resource education, and runs the Watershed Conservation Corps youth employment program. ★★★★Dustin HolmesVery nice park. The pond is very large, most people would probably refer to it as a lake when they saw it. You can fish here and there are two covered fishing docks as well as a few spots along the bank where you could fish as well. Nice trail to hike on. What I didn't like was that the trails were not marked. If you are not familiar with the park you have no idea where the trail goes or how far it goes. They should really put up a map, distance and direction signs. In periods of heavy rain I would be careful about flash flooding on the section of the trail just behind the Watershed Center and at times the water levels may be to high in this area to do the complete loop around the park.
