I attended the free Power of Action Verbs Workshop led by Amanda Melby. She explained the concept clearly and provided detailed handouts for deeper understanding. We were asked to prepare a monologue, which she had us perform using different action verbs to explore a range of expressions. Amanda also demonstrated how this technique can be applied in auditions, on stage, and on camera to enhance an actor’s performance. Her time, guidance, and energy made the session truly enriching for all the participants. Verve Studio is an excellent creative space with great resources, and with a dedicated teacher like Amanda, I highly recommend it!

I LOVED the Improv Fundamentals class that I recently took with Navaris Darson as a coach. My goodness. I looked forward to every class, and smiled so much my face hurt. I learned more in those 4 weeks about comedy, than I have so far in my career. It was a wealth of information, and I felt grateful to be receiving it. The ways in which Navaris had us apply the techniques in game after game, and exercise after exercise was so smart and effective. He’s a patient, kind, intelligent, and empowering coach. He held us to a high standard so we could get the most out of this course, and we all saw each other grow exponentially in such a short amount of time. We’re all hoping he has another class soon, so we can keep momentum. I also LOVED getting to experience Verve Studios in their new location! It’s an actors dream. Amanda Melby and her team have thought of everything! I can tell how well run everything is, and I appreciate all that Amanda does for actors, teachers, and artists in our community. I highly recommend taking classes at Verve. And there are many different ones to choose from!
