Powered by GoogleMy son has been going to their day camps for a while now. We speak Spanish at home, and Vamonos is a great way to get him excited to speak more Spanish! The staff are friendly and professional. Meanwhile, I have also had students intern with them and have wonderful experiences. Vamonos is truly offering a wonderful service to the city's children.
We love Vamonos NOLA! It's such a great affordable option Uptown. And the Spanish aspect is awesome. The kids of course love the water play the most.
Vamonos NOLA was a fantastic experience for my children. They didn't know any Spanish at all, so the first day was an adjustment. The counselors were very understanding and did everything in their power to make my kids feel comfortable and welcomed. Drop off and pick up were easy and well organized. The counselors were professional and approachable and very willing to answer any and all questions I had. They do a "sandwich method" of spanish immersion which is to talk in Spanish, then translate to English, then say it in Spanish again. This way the kids always know what's going on. The kids came home happy and ready to go back again and again. They made new friends and were excited about all the fun they had. They even taught me some Spanish.
Vamonos NOLA has been a lifesaver for us. They're open for basically all school holidays (with before and aftercare). Both of my kids are excited to go and even seem to be picking up some Spanish!
My 5yo wasn't crazy about Spanish at school, and I was worried he'd feel out of place at "Spanish camp." Not the case! The teachers at Vamonos NOLA made the learning environment natural, and fun. He felt like it was just another fun "camp" but came home saying "calabaza" and "manzana" after days carving pumpkins and doing science experiments with apples. We'll definitely be back!
