Powered by GoogleYoung teenage lifeguard told my wife she couldn’t breastfeed in public and she needed to stop. This despite that she was fully covered and breast feeding under a blanket. And this despite state laws protecting breastfeeding . I’m assuming the managements’ evangelic ideas promotes this pompous and illegal behavior by this young lifeguard. There was also frequent and unpredictable interruptions of the pool access due to school swim meets.
I’ve gone to the YMCA for awhile now and I ran into some healthy issues and didn’t have enough money in my account for the Y so I stopped going for over 4 months they instead of canceling my account charged me for over $185 when I was only going to the court so I could do community fellowship with my Church. she made it near impossible to cancel my membership when I asked and made it a big deal and when I got frustrated tried to insult me. The basketball court is probably the worst in New Bern it is never clean and always dusty and is why nobody goes there anymore and goes to the rec center. Gym is okay but it is very small. Prices have risen for memberships too and no longer allow one day guests like they used to. For the amount they charge and how they treat you it is not worth it at all if you are going just to play basketball.
Excellent programs for adults and children, especially the swim classes offered during the summer. I believe they have a game room for teens and kids of certain age groups. This location has plenty of parking for multiple types of events and large indoor and outdoor pools for classes, fun, practice, and race events as well. Well wiring equipment for workouts, training, basketball, racquetball and more! A must for anyone new or locals.
Nice gym. Clean with lots of equipment. The staff is very friendly. Perfect for the whole family. The kids watch area is very fun for little kids. My only complaint is there isn't a lot of room for floor exercises. However there is a plethora of classes and activities.
Been to a lot of YMCA's around the country, this one is one of the best. This YMCA has indoor and outdoor pools, of which the poutdoor is covered and controlled during the winter, fantastic equipment and workout areas, new finish of the basketball courts and much more, but above all else it is so clean. you can smell the disinfectant throughout the building when you walk in. They have staff that their only job is to walk around and clean everything. Locker rooms are spotless. Cleanliness is of the highest importance not just in the winter but yearound. Pic is of the outdoor pool while covered for winter.
