I started riding here in 2012 as a child. I did several camps, group lessons, private lessons, trail rides, clinics, and joined the Pony Club chapter that is run from the barn. The horses are wonderful. I have learned an amazing amount about horsemanship, riding, and horse care. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful equestrian facility in my area.

My 11 yr old daughter recently participated in the 2-day horse camp at Three Witches – she refused to go back the second day because of ridiculing comments and overall negative tone of the staff. Based on communication with other families and reviews here, she was not alone in her experience. My understanding was that the horse camp was for all levels, including beginners, and although my daughter is taking horseback riding lessons, she is still a beginner. When she walked on the incorrect side of the horse by accident, she said the instructors criticized her saying, "I thought you said you took horseback riding lessons!". Similar comments were made to other students as well - the instructor said to another student, "Do you even take horseback riding lessons?" in a ridiculing manner. Several of the instructors were on their phones throughout the camp, apparently organizing events and other non-camp related business. The instructors did not introduce themselves during the camp so she didn't know anyone's name and, due to the comments made, didn't feel comfortable asking questions. In a horse camp for beginners we had hoped for instructors to be engaged and teaching in a positive, supportive manner to build confidence around and riding horses, but my daughter experienced the opposite. The facilities are beautiful and I'm sure the instructors are experienced and knowledgeable, but we were disappointed with the staff communication with students and overall tone of the camp.

Often tell people how lucky we are to have such an amazing equiestrian facility so close to home. Lori and her daughters are some of the top instructors in our area of the country and my daughter's confidence and abilities have grown immensely in the last few years under their instruction. We have done lessons, trail rides and camps (and now have our own horse) and the experience has been great. Highly recommended!

My daughters had a terrible experience with Lori their camp instructor. After consulting with other families who attended the same camp, we were not alone. While they learned a lot and loved the horses, Lori comes from an old-school authoritarian style of leadership and has zero business dealing with small children. Since this camp was so highly rated I didn’t ask many questions and if so perhaps I would learn that she never does camps with children as young as mine. They are 4 and 6 years old. I think this was her first time allowing 4 year olds. They do not have as much stamina, impulse control, or listening skills as 7-9 year olds. They have attended numerous camps, they just did summer school for the first time, and had zero issues. They have never had an issue with any childcare previously. But here, they came home crying from camp both days. My oldest said Lori was “mean” and she never said wanted to see her again. They have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and a lack of care. If you are expecting high-quality childcare, you will not receive it. Lori stated directly to my girls and to my husband that “sometimes you need to yell at kids” to get them to listen. She made both of my girls cry DURING THE CAMP - because they were not “listening” and not playing a “soccer game” “correctly”.. what does soccer have to do with horses I do not know .. my girls were tired and Lori was yelling at my 4 year old for not playing the right way and when she started crying, she tried to give her a time out! You do not treat young kids this way and I am appalled. I cannot believe we paid as much money as we did for our children to be treated this way. Lori even called me to say they would be crying when we came to pick them up, but my girls are honest, they are too young to be malicious and lie, and they told me exactly what had transpired. They were crying due to her inability to properly deal with children. We will NEVER be back. And we were going to sign them up for lessons too! Never again.

I take my Mom here weekly (when I can) for a trail ride lesson. She is nearly 82 and suffers from Dementia. Horseback riding is something that really grounds her. Lori and the team are amazing! I can't say enough good things about Three Witches Farm & Stable and highly recommend them.
