Third Coast Beach Camps are run by Third Coast Surf Shop at New Buffalo Beach, teaching kids to surf Lake Michigan alongside stand-up paddleboarding, sandboarding and skimboarding in small groups led by experienced, CPR-certified instructors. Camps run Monday through Friday mornings from 9am to noon — a half-day rather than a full workday — across weekly sessions from late June through mid-August. They are designed for ages 6-12, with 5-year-olds accepted if an older sibling aged 6-12 is also attending and the child can follow instructors. All campers should have some swimming experience and be comfortable in the water.
