Theatre of Dare is the Outer Banks community theatre, founded in 1991, and has run a permanent venue in Kitty Hawk since 2022. Each summer it partners with Porkchop Productions on children's theatre camps: half-day sessions with mornings for ages 6-10 and afternoons for ages 11-17, each week carrying its own theme. Past themes include musical theatre, stage makeup, voice acting, superheroes and wizards, and sessions are led by Lost Colony alumna Stacey Maxwell.
