What a gem in the middle of the beauty of the Black Hills! We saw all 4 productions of the summer 2025 season and they were excellent productions, especially the musicals, thoroughly enjoyed them all. The playhouse is actually in Custer State Park and there are fee booths at park entrances. They are closed by the time you are headed to the play and can be bypassed without the entry fee.

Very enjoyable performance and a nice facility. Snacks available for sale.

The theater has a small, intimate feeling to it, but not cramped. This was the fifth production that I've attended, and all have been excellently produced. Whatever you see will be professional in every respect, with great attention to art and detail. This time, I saw Murder on the Orient Express, and the actors are top notch, as always, and I was most impressed with the lighting effects ... And I'll leave it at that. I'm confident that you'll enjoy your time there!

9 to 5 was a really fun play to go to. The venue is awesome. Really good acoustics and visibility. The acting was good as well as the production. All in all it was an extremely fun experience. I highly recommend this play to everyone other than children!!! If you're visiting the Black Hills or if you're a local, you need to go to the Playhouse as see one of their productions.

We saw a great performance there, "The Drowsy Chaperone." Over the years, I've seen other great productions, including "Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Sherlock Holmes," & others. The offerings in the gift shop/snack bar have been reduced over time, but I suppose that makers it easier to manage.
