This camp is phenomenal. Heavily using LARP (Live Action Role Play), it is a magical place for kids to experience friendship, independence, teamwork, STEAM activities, and a healthy dose of outdoor fun, all through the immersive lens of experiential roleplay. It's a special place for kids and staff alike!

I was a camper for four years (and am now a counselor!) and I cannot recommend this camp enough. It did so much for my self-confidence and self-efficacy with its focus on community and autonomy-based learning. The summers I've been able to spend at this camp have been some of the most enriching and enjoyable times of my life. If you have an opportunity to send your child to this camp, DO IT! It will change their life!

My son (age 11) went to Story School day camp last year. He loved it so much he has decided to go to the sleep away camp this year. He is already planning his character and costume, even though it is 5 months away. The counselors are all awesome and my son came home everyday energized by the storyline and thinking creatively about what he would do the next day. If your child loves LARPing, D&D, MTG, etc... can't recommend it enough!

They just did my son's birthday party and it was AMAZING. What was so shocking was how EVERY child was immediately immersed in the experience. We went from a group of kids that barely knew eachother and were sitting alone at tables eating pizza to a cohesive unit that battled a dragon together, strategized as a unit, and were all grinning ear to ear. The pictures are epic. Including a few below of my kids but others were equally happy (I just don't have permission to post).

If your child is into LARP, they will love Story School classes. It's clear that kids feel like they are in an accepting place with similarly minded peers. Also, a very happy first time overnight camper this year, loved being able to find a camp for a child that wouldn't enjoy the more traditional experience. Story School is very welcoming of neurodiversity, and the kids feel like they belong.
