The Rose Theater is a nonprofit children's theater in downtown Omaha whose education program offers summer theater day camps for ages 3–18, with more than 100 options in acting, voice, dance, musical theater, and technical theater, including classes for children with special needs. Formats range from two-hour camps for ages 3–5 to half- and full-day week-long camps.

Our 3 year old had spent 5 hours at the zoo, then we raced thru an awesome dinner at Clio's ( awesome) and raced to the theater to watch the show and she was solidly loving it, a one hour show, loved it all and wanted to meet the performers. We were a few minutes late with a stroller. Not a stink eye to be seen at us, the staff was delightful the audience clearly loved this theater. It's a treat, go check it out and make it a family tradition to see theater here!
★Angela OsbornI attended “The Great Race” in Omaha with my 6-year-old, expecting a traditional retelling of the Chinese zodiac. Instead, the production shifted heavily into modern political and social themes, including imagery and references to current social causes, which took away from what I had hoped to share with my child. While a couple of the vocalists were very talented, the overall performance felt very different from what was advertised or expected for a family cultural production. Audience reaction was also mixed, with some people leaving early and very little applause at the end. I was very disappointed in this rendition and would not recommend it if you are looking for a traditional version of the Chinese zodiac story.
