The Powerhouse is a nonprofit STEAM science center in Durango, housed in an 1893 power plant on the Animas River, that runs week-long summer camps for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade. Themed camps cover space, sports science, gardening and river science, with hands-on experiments and play. Camps run Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm and Friday 9am-1pm, with before- and after-care available.

The staff were amazingly kind and shout out to Cheryl who let us pet and learn all about the Milk Snake Pricilla and who was just a blast to spend out time with there. Such as building tracks,puzzles, problem solving and lots of different toys for kids to play around with. Its along the river trail as well so afterwards it's nice to go for a walk around outside. We also went for St Patrick Day and they had tons of crafts and scavenger hunt for the kids. Our 5 year old definitely enjoyed.
