Powered by GoogleI cannot say enough good things about Emily and The Playful Space! I recommend her offerings and workshops to everyone I know. I have attended several of her classes and workshops and have felt welcomed since the very first event I met Emily at. The journaling workshops, wine nights, paper crafting workshops, date nights, special events… it is all so much fun! She even planned a carefully curated day date for my husband and I for our wedding anniversary! I am a forever supporter of the Playful Space.
I needed this creative outlet sooo deeply!!! My daughter and I are officially hooked and can’t wait to participate on a regular basis! I didn’t realize how much my body needed creativity back in it until I experienced it today! Emily has curated such an intentionally special space that we are so tickled to have experienced! THANK YOU!!!
The Playful Space has quickly become one of my favorite small businesses to support. Emily is fantastic; always with a smile and a can do attitude. She rolls with the punches and is able to correct when things may not go the way as planned. What's even better, she has a broad range of programs that can appeal to anyone. We (my 3.5 year old son and I) have attended several Mom and Me Playdates and have loved every one of them. The price tag can feel like sticker shock, but it is without a doubt worth every penny. She sets up several stations for the kids to free roam in between. There are no rules, which makes it so nice to for the kids to lead the activities, dive into their creative side, and really learn through play. There is always 2 to 3 craft-type projects for the kids to take home and a plethora of snacks. And she themes them for each month which means there is always something new! I have also attended her Adult Workshops. She provides a safe space for women to come and discuss a multitude of topics in a way that makes you feel heard and understood. Plus, she encourages art in forms that I have not previously been comfortable with, and now I own several of the tools she has shown. Friendships are forms, laughs are shared, and a lasting impression is made. I am looking forward to attending a retreat with her later this year. In addition, Emily has formed a partnership with our local library to do mini play dates twice a month. She brings a craft project for the kids to enjoy which is complimented with stories read by the fantastic librarians. It's a free event open to everyone and is wonderful! If nothing else, you need to follow her on Instagram (@theplayfulspace) because she constantly posts uplifting images, community opportunities for experiencing the arts, and occasional challenges to get you bringing a little art to your daily life. I have nothing but good things to say about Emily and the Playful Space. Anyone with young kids should attend a playdate at least once and any woman looking to do something for herself should attend a workshop. You will walk away happy and fulfilled.
We had the pleasure of attending a mama and me play date. I have a 3 and 6 year old and I'm not sure who had more fun! Emily creates fun, hands on, engaging, and play based activities for all ages attending. My 6 year old loves all things crafty and loved the painting, post office, and coloring & glueing table! My youngest enjoyed the sensory activities and playing with kids her age. They both ended the play date by saying, "Can we please go again?" 100% recommend attending Emily's play dates!
Emily and I connected instantly from the moment we met! I have now attended multiple art workshops and even most recently her and The Sparkling Hippie's Create and Connect Women's Retreat. My experience every time is so hard to put into words. To be honest, it's magical, and even that just doesn't do it justice. If you are on the fence about attending an art workshop or retreat, just do what Emily says and cannonball in! You won't regret it, I promise! Emily does such an amazing job at making all of her attendees feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Each person starts the workshop maybe a little nervous or anxious, but by the end none of us want to leave! I have left each workshop not only with new friends, but a deeper connection to myself as well.
