Having very limited art training and no particular noticeable talent, I was apprehensive in my ability to learn how to draw and paint, yet I really wanted to. This school has provided me this wonderful experience to learn a very complex skill at my own pace. This has been accomplished with positive persistent support and although it’s been hard work and a steep learning curve, I have been able to create great pieces of art at a quality level that are more than I imagined possible. Highly recommend this Acedemy

Started my journey of art at the North Carolina Academy of Art during pandemic. Mark is a wonderful instructor, helping me to build the skills and confidence to drawing and painting, as 0 experience when started. Also meet a lot of friendly classmates sharing the experience to pursue better art pieces. Recommend to everyone interested in classic art at any level!

I started going to the academy about 8 months ago, when I lived in fort mill. 2 months ago I moved to Spartanburg and decided to drive 1.5 hours twice a week just to go to class. Even with the long drive I wouldn’t miss class for anything. Going to class makes my week and has encouraged me to experiment with art more. My drawings have improved so much and I have made so many friends at the school. The instructor, Mark, is obviously passionate about what he teaches and can show you how to take your piece to the next level. This is the best art school I’ve ever been to.

I travel over 2 hours to this Academy because the instructor, Mark Gucciardi, and the school's classical approach is teaching me skills that most art schools and universities do not. Though this is a serious study of art, the atmosphere is very welcoming and supportive to all ages and abilities levels. I highly recommend Mark and the Academy to any one who wants to begin or hone his/her artistic skills.

I have been attending North Carolina Academy of Art for 3 months and have seen vast improvements in my drawing skills and learned invaluable lessons in drawing. Mark Gucciardi provides a comfortable and fun environment to learn in. I highly reccomend this school for beginning artists and for people who wish to revive and refresh their drawing skills.
