Music Academy Asheville offers week-long summer music camps built around its Rock Academy program, where young musicians form a band, rehearse in a dedicated rehearsal space and perform a free Friday concert for family and friends. Camp runs half-day, 9am-12pm, with 8:30am early drop-off, at $250 per week. The academy also teaches piano, guitar, voice, drums, violin, cello and banjo year-round.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact The Music Academy-Asheville directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleAshley is such an amazing instructor! My daughter started learning guitar and within 6 months she was writing, singing and playing her own original songs, and she was 11! Would recommend!
My 11 year absolutely lives his drum lessons with John Caldwell at the Music Academy. So worth every penny spent!
My Son has been with Rock Academy for the past 5 years and we look forward to many more! We are just in love with this program. My Son is so excited to get to his lessons each week and has played on stages like the Orange Peel and The Grey Eagle! I highly recommend. They are local to WNC, children led to learn and love what they play.
Our family loves the music academy of Asheville! We've had great experiences for each of our kids, from ages 5 to 12. Dena, who runs the place is awesome. My kids have found great teachers for voice and guitar. Jared Gardner in particular has been a fantastic teacher for my son on guitar, and has helped him grow his skillset tremendously in a relatively short time. My daughter absolutely loves her voice teacher, Legera. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking to learn a new instrument or improve your skill.
All three of my kids have taken classes here, and every experience has been outstanding! Jared Gardener has been my son's guitar teacher for nearly two years, and he’s become not just a fantastic instructor but also a great friend and mentor. I’m incredibly grateful to have him in my kiddo’s life—not only for his amazing music teaching but also for the positive influence he’s been. He’s patient, supportive, and always willing to help with whatever my son wants to learn, while also gently introducing him to new genres and music theory. I can't say enough good things! My daughter has been taking singing lessons with Legera, whose teaching style is a perfect fit. She’s laid-back, encouraging, and truly makes learning fun. This has been a game-changer for my daughter, giving her the confidence to sing in front of others—something I never thought I’d see! Rock Academy is ridiculously fun, and their shows are an absolute blast! Dena is always so helpful and friendly—I don’t know how she does it all! We also participated in the bluegrass/folk camp last summer, and it was an outstanding experience for my son. Clearly, I have nothing but praise for this place!
