The Little Gym of Chesapeake

My daughter attended The Little Gym for just over four months, participating twice a week until recently due to medical issues. I want to be clear: I have no issue addressing my child’s behavior. My daughter is three years old, and when she is corrected, she understands and adjusts. If there had been concerns, we would have taken them seriously. The issue is that in over four months, no instructor ever raised a single concern to either my wife or me. There was no communication, no warning, and no opportunity to correct anything. Instead, during our most recent session, a manager—without our knowledge—was brought in to “observe” our daughter. We were not informed of this beforehand or during the class. This individual then disciplined our daughter by isolating her in front of the other children, something that had never occurred in prior sessions. As expected for a three-year-old, she became upset and tried to leave the room. What followed was unacceptable. The manager then confronted my wife in front of other parents, questioning her parenting and suggesting that our daughter was a problem for the class. This was done publicly rather than in a private, respectful conversation. After we left, we received a call explaining who this person was and defending the situation. This was also the first time anyone asked whether concerns had ever been communicated to us—which they had not. Expecting a three-year-old in a group setting to be responsible for other children’s behavior is unreasonable. Additionally, handling concerns in this manner—without prior communication, transparency, or basic courtesy—is unprofessional. We will not be returning. While the program itself can be a positive activity for children, the way this situation was handled was inappropriate, poorly managed, and disrespectful. For those reading please do not take this as me saying not to enroll your children, just be wary that this may be something you can experience.

The Little Gym Chesapeake is amazing!! Not only do they have fun classes with fun and caring teachers but they throw awesome birthday parties. We had a party for our 3 year old and the staff went above and beyond to make it such a special and memorable experience. From the moment you book the party reservation until you leave at the end of the party, they help you with every step along the way. They cater the party to your little one’s personality and preferences. They have fun and engaging activities during the whole duration of the party. Not only do they help serve cake and pizza but they also help pack everything up at the end and help you carry stuff to your car. We received so many compliments from our party guests about how it was the best party ever and we couldn’t agree more. We may even have our party there again next year. Highly recommend the little Gym Chesapeake!!

The Little Gym is amazing!! We started our journey off here with all 3 of my girls were each donated trial classes because of a tragic event that happened with the loss of their father. It has become onw of the best outlets for all 3 of them and has really helped them escape and keep their minds busy. The entire staff is amazing and so welcoming and sympathetic to our situation and has offer a home away from home. I cant wait to see what the future holds here for all of my girls!!
