Nonprofit garden-based summer day camp in East Asheville (on the Land of the Sky UCC campus) for children roughly ages 6-10, running 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. across about 11 weeks with drop-ins welcome. Seasonal weekly themes have campers planting, harvesting and cooking fresh food, caring for baby animals, doing STEM projects and exploring the outdoors.

Joan and the rest of camp staff are so lovely and great with our son, he's learned so much. The best part IMO is that he comes home dirty, sweaty, and totally zonked each day—a great summer day! The kids really get to decide how they want to spend their day at Garden Camp (within boundaries, of course), it's a special place.

If you’re a parent who worries about sending your child to new places and fears they won’t be understood, these are not our people. IYKYK. However the owner is a seemingly kind person and the space looks like lots of fun. My kiddo had a blast the one day they attended.

They always look forward to going and come home full of excitement and stories of the day. They spend the day outside and active. I like that there’s kids of all ages together. While there are themes to the weeks, and structured activities available, the kids have a lot of choice. The staff are kind, welcoming, engaging, and fun. They do a great job keeping the kids safe and involved. This camp has been such a blessing during this pandemic, providing out kids with a chance to have very needed social interactions in an outside safe environment. I highly recommend The Educational Garden project! Update- my kids are now 7 and 10, and continue to love their time at Garden camp every summer!
