The Drawing Studio is a Tucson nonprofit arts organization offering three one-week summer youth camps in which students explore mixed media (pastels, watercolor, acrylics) and rotate through murals, comics and printmaking. All materials and snacks are included, with lunch provided for summer immersion campers. Teaching artists work with sensitivity to apparent and non-apparent disabilities.

Powered by GoogleI am thoroughly impressed by the drawing studio. I have been attending and enjoying the figure drawing studio for a number of years and recently spoke with Anthony about my financial struggles. He offered me a scholarship making it possible to enjoy more of The Drawing Studios fabulous offerings
Our experience at The Drawing Studio has been amazing. My boy and my girl have become regulars, attending all the seasonal art camps . . . and they have a blast. My oldest has also attended several workshops. The Drawing Studio has truly become a home away from home. The director, staff, and all the instructors are fantastic. And, the best part . . . THE ART. My kids are creating amazing little masterpieces and actually selling some of them. Wow!! Side Note: I noticed a couple of bad reviews. I will not discount their experience as I am not them, but I find it hard to believe based on our three years of extensive workshops, camps, and interactions. I am giving 5 BIG STARS without hesitation and highly recommend The Drawing Studio for artists of all ages!
I'd driven by this building for years wondering what it was like and what classes they offered. Finally I found out they accept ESA funding and were willing to coordinate courses tailored to homeschool students! Since then my 12, and 13, year old boys have gotten to experience mural painting, print making, pastel drawing and clay work! I pray more people, teens and children will discover the joy of this studio. Maggie and Anthony are so great and welcoming. And TDS has lots of instructors! Walt, Russ, Blizzo and Ari have been amazing for my boys! Everyone I've met have been so down to earth and welcoming. My 12 year old struggles with dysgraphia and TDS has given him space to express himself with confidence! I kick myself for not visiting sooner. Now I can't wait to start attending classes myself. Thank you to all who make this studio possible!
My journey with the Drawing Studio has been nothing short of phenomenal. I've participated in numerous classes and deeply admire the dedication to diversity, community, and inclusion. Thank you for what you do!
The drawing studio is an invaluable resource for the Tucson community, fostering creativity and connection among its members. I particularly appreciate their commitment to inclusivity, and their wide range of classes that cater to artists of all backgrounds. Their generosity shines through in various community outreach programs and scholarships. One of the highlights of the year is their Juneteenth celebration, a truly inspiring event that brings together artists and community members to honor culture and creativity through art.
