The ArtsCenter in Carrboro runs Summer ArtsCamp for children ages 5-14, blending visual arts, music, movement and drama with imaginative play. Camp operates from late June through late August in half-day sessions (AM 9:00-noon, PM 1:00-4:00), with optional before- and after-care. A limited number of full and partial need-based scholarships are available.

★JakeI took the oil painting class twice - about ten years apart. Different teachers. Instruction was vague at best. Lighting for painting is terrible. You’d be better off taking online courses like with “the paint coach” - I learned more in 30 minutes with him than all the time I spent at the arts center. Save your money and time don’t go here

Listened to Les Trois Chats (local jazz) and Scandimonium (Nordic Folk, and so cute to see them dance) back to back with a 30 min intermission during the Carrboro music festival all around town. Super nice staff, easy center parking so skip all street parking by the bars and restaurants. Bit hot inside but hey free.
