Texas 4-H Conference Center

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension facility on Lake Brownwood that both rents its site to outside groups and runs its own overnight youth camps, which the centre states are open to all youth regardless of 4-H membership. Its summer line-up includes a three-day Mini Camp aimed at first-time campers, five-day County Camps I-III for ages 8-14 in grades 3-8, a Specialty Camp Week in which campers pick a single track (4-H Hunting, Aperture Academy, Arts & Crafts, Fishing, Food Challenge, Refashion, Ropes & Team Building or Sports & Games), a six-day Teen Adventure Camp, and an Ag Discovery Camp for grades 7-12 that includes time at Tarleton State University. All camps are overnight, with campers in dorm-style housing supervised by trained staff and counselors, and activities include archery, riflery, fishing, kayaking, high ropes, swimming, sports and Camp Olympics. 2026 prices ran from $325 for Mini Camp to $525 for Ag Discovery Camp; the centre keeps a trained health manager on site and bars cell phones, parent visits and phone calls during camp.

Beautiful property right on a 7300-acre lake. Great facility, with good food. The staff was excellent. They were helpful and kind, and they were all hustling to make the event go smoothly. Great place.

I had such an amazing, peaceful, beautiful experience here. I very much enjoyed the hiking the views, the scenery and wildlife. I look forward to coming back. I hope next time the activities like tight rope waking in the ski and rock climbing will be available and open. Also the staff was amazing, ready and happy to help with anything.

I love this 4-H Conference Center, having attended camps there myself from elementary school through graduation. Now I enjoy taking my own children to camps, retreats, and trainings there throughout the year. It has been well maintained and updated through the years.

A nice 4-H camp located by Lake Brownwood. They have many activities available: rifle range, challenge course, basketball court, swimming pool and softball field. Lake activities as well.
