Team Armstead Community Center, founded by NFL offensive lineman Terron Armstead in his hometown, runs Team Armstead's Way (TAW), a six-week summer camp for local youth that balances work and play. The camp teaches social and life skills, emotional expression, teamwork and respect, and provides academic support and tutoring, with a stated aim of building confidence and keeping kids from violence, poor decisions and isolation. The center also runs a four-week 'I'm A Business' program covering professional skills such as handshakes and eye contact, reading financial statements, credit and taxes, business planning and public speaking. Both are run in partnership with Cahokia Unit School District #187.
