We found Tacoma Capoeira Center as a summer camp option in 2024 and have been going to classes almost every week since. It's hard, physical work with strategy, social responsiveness, history, culture, and music all together. My young person loves Coach True and Mestre Syed and has seen significant increases in his strength and stamina playing capoeira. This organization is full of people who care a lot and are amazing humans, and it's hard to ask for more than that.

My 2 sons love the leadership and encouragement to always be their best self. The positive energy and love while they play in a roda always is the highlight of their day. This is a very eclectic art of diversity and creativity.

3 year update: Capoeira is great for mobility, building strength and rhythm. The Capoeira community is a welcoming and great group. Bonus on top of the Music, training and history and cultural lesson. You get some pretty fire gear and stickers. ON TOP OF THAT YOU GET LEARN ANOTHER LANGUAGE. Run don’t walk, trails free anyways. If your looking for a great community and a place to have fun and train, this is it. I started Capoeira last year and not only is it a physical learning experience but also a cultural and historical one as well. Learning instruments, songs the history behind them and the art it’s self is just another added onto the experience.

The Tacoma Capoeira Center provides the community with rich cultural experiences and nurtures cultural understanding. The instructors are very caring and patient, but also don't shy away from challenging their students to grow. The class is great for kids and is a fun way to learn about a unique culture. My son loves it!

Professor Galo and his students in Tacoma are simply amazing. I often train with Professor Galo in Seattle, but there is nothing like seeing him interact with his "hometown" students in Tacoma. The space is open and inviting for students of all ages and abilities. Tacoma Capoeira Center is a great place to train, grow, and fellowship! Fed Brooks
