Sussex Dance Academy has been instrumental in her becoming the gracious, poised, confident young woman she is today. The instructors ensure an environment that is not only nurturing and supportive but challenges them to learn and develop their technique with age-appropriate balance of focus and fun. Every interaction I have had with the owner, staff, instructors, and volunteers over nearly 17 years has been supportive and professional. My daughter has had extremely positive experiences with classes, instructors, choreography, auditions, and performances. She has auditioned for and danced in every production of The Nutcracker this studio has staged since she was old enough, and my son even joined the cast for many years. The music and costumes for classes, productions, and performances are always age-appropriate and of high quality. The students are also encouraged to audition for and participate in ballet summer intensives, which my daughter earned merit scholarships for locally as well as in New York, Orlando, and Tampa. She has also attended multiple dance conventions and competitions (Sussex Dance Academy offers a competition team) at which the studio has consistently earned awards for being kind and supportive amongst themselves as well as toward other studios/teams. This is not surprising as SDA promotes a culture of a dance family and the entire staff lead by example through professionalism, kindness, and being team players. The friendships, connections, opportunities, and life lessons my daughter has gained at Sussex Dance Academy will benefit her for a lifetime. We are truly indebted to Kate Walker and her staff!
