Powered by GoogleWe can't say enough about how much we've loved being part of the Step by Step community. Our 2 yr old daughter has been attending since she was 18 weeks old and has absolutely thrived here, so much of which we credit to the close and meaningful relationships she's developed with her teachers, classmates, and the staff. She confidently hugs me goodbye in the morning and is happy to go into her classroom - what better peace of mind can a parent have. We also have been impressed with the environment SBS has cultivated. From the the enrichments (soccer, music, zumba...!), class curriculum and crafts, time outside, to the actual physical space itself (open, bright, clean), as well as the positive and upbeat energy from the staff, it's an engaging and warm place to be. The parent experience has also been fantastic - the teachers and administrative team are accessible and responsive, organized, and communicative. They are also genuinely wonderful people that we've enjoyed getting to know as well. We would highly recommend SBS to any family!
My two youngest started at 18 months old and all three of my boys continue to use the aftercare program (now Prek4 and 3rd grade). They have amazing teacher retention with such low turnover (a rarity in the childcare world) and the most good-natured, caring teachers. The kind of teachers that show up to your son's soccer game on the weekend, on their day off, just because they know how much it means to him :) We are so grateful to have Step by Step as part of our family. They are the BEST!
My wife and I decided to send our son (first child) to Step by Step and we are so happy that we did. Because we both work, we had to start him in daycare at just 4 months old and we were very nervous to leave him in someone else’s care. Luckily we chose Step by Step. The staff and teachers in the wiggly worms 1 class have been incredible with helping us raise our young son and he gets excited every morning when we turn the corner and he sees the school. The facilities are amazing and the teachers and staff are so friendly and caring. They do all kinds of art projects with the kids, have music class, and even take them outside for fresh air walks and lessons which my son especially loves. It is truly a first class daycare experience!
Our daughter has been attending Step By Step for the past two months and loves it. The staff have been amazing and she has settled in faster than we expected, this is down to the care and attention that the staff at Step by Step have given her. We would highly recommend anyone who’s looking for daycare for their children in Hoboken, we look forward to our second child starting in the new year!
SBSS has been such an integral part of my Hoboken and parenting journey - they are everything you'd want in a neighborhood business and a childcare facility. Both of my children have been attending since they each started in the Wiggly Worms infant room and they've continued to grow, learn, and thrive. I have been so impressed and grateful for the genuine relationships that the administration and teachers form with the children in their care, as well as the parents! They have made me feel supported and encouraged through every developmental milestone, behavior challenge, and life transition, from starting solid foods to potty training. My older son LOVES to see his teachers and they really helped him to come out of his shell and be confident in a classroom setting. My little guy lights up with a smile each morning at drop off, and it's a small reminder that he is truly loved and cared for even when he is not at home. Beyond the wonderful staff, the facility is spacious, clean, and welcoming. I particularly appreciate that the infant room has a separate "napping section" so the babies aren't sleeping in a room with bright lights and in the midst of playtime. It really helped both of my children to have good sleep habits and stay in a routine. Their toddler rooms are cozy and have lots of space for playtime, and the older kids (preschool & aftercare) are upstairs which is a nice separation of space for the different age groups. They have a small gated outdoor space where the kids get to play when weather is nice and they offer soccer "practice" as well as a few other enrichment classes -- baby yoga, drama, etc. Added considerations for those looking at daycare options - SBS includes meals in tuition prices which has been a great perk as a family with two busy working parents, and they offer a really flexible slate of enrollment choices -- partial/full day and 2/3/4/5 day options, which helped us to customize our daycare experience with our family needs.
