S.T.A.R. Summer Camp is an integrated day camp in Independence for individuals with disabilities alongside typically-developing peers, founded by two retired special-education teachers. It offers age-grouped sessions for preschoolers, children ages 6-12 and teens 13 and older, staffed by intervention specialists, movement specialists and interns. The program emphasizes educational reinforcement, physical activity, social skills and inclusion, and served 270+ participants across Northeast Ohio last year.
