Powered by GoogleWhat a well-run, welcoming, and fun camp for my tweens! As soon as St. Mark's Summer opened, we signed up for several sessions and have loved every minute. My kids were older kids/tweens when they first attended, which is a tricky age for summer plans. They all had a blast here --- especially with the ropes challenge and the archery. The swimming lessons were an unexpected bonus. My three children have been able to swim for years, but at SM summer they learned how to do the butterfly, which was hit. For me, it was great to know my kids were happy and safe...and I didn't need to pack lunches, even for my daughter with food allergies.
St. Mark’s Summer Camp has been an absolute gift to our family! My 9-year-old daughter is heading into her third summer, and she is already counting down the days until she’s back on campus. The excitement and confidence she carries home each afternoon say everything about how much she loves being there. The enrichment camps are especially outstanding. They strike the perfect balance of learning and fun—thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and independence while still feeling like summer. Whether she’s exploring new subjects, building skills, or trying something completely new, she comes home energized and proud of what she’s accomplished. The counselors and staff create such a warm, supportive environment. They truly get to know each child and foster a sense of belonging that makes kids feel comfortable, challenged, and celebrated all at once. It’s clear that so much care goes into every detail of the program. We feel incredibly lucky to have found a camp that our daughter loves this much. Watching her grow, make friends, and look forward to returning year after year has been the best endorsement we could ask for. We can’t wait for another amazing summer!
St. Mark's Summer provided an awesome environment for my energetic and adventurous boy. There was just the right amount of structure each day so that he could reasonably predict what the day would be like while also providing him plenty of outlets to have fun and release his pent up energy. I was never concerned about his safety at any activity throughout the day. There was always a strong, active presence at the car rider line each day leading me to believe my son was cared for beyond expectations. He's already asked about when he can go back to "Big kid camp". Bring on SMS 2026!!!!
I am sharing this review so that other parents — particularly those of neurodivergent children — can make an informed decision. My son attended Saint Mark’s Summer Camp for three years. He is a kind, loving child with ADHD. Prior to camp beginning, I fully disclosed his diagnosis in all intake paperwork and provided specific strategies that help him succeed. I trusted that this transparency would ensure he received appropriate support. Last summer, after a minor incident in which no one was hurt, I received a call requesting that he “take a break.” Just hours later, I was contacted again and informed he would not be allowed to return for the remainder of the summer. The sudden shift from a temporary pause to full dismissal was confusing and alarming. The second call, delivered by a member of the administrative team, was cold and dismissive. There was no meaningful discussion of solutions, no collaborative problem-solving, and no indication that my child’s emotional well-being was being considered. Given that this was his first behavioral incident at camp, the response felt disproportionate. This decision significantly impacted my son’s confidence and left me scrambling to secure alternative childcare with little notice. Despite having advance knowledge of his ADHD and recommended support strategies, the camp appeared either unprepared or unwilling to appropriately support him. I was also concerned about the level of staff training. Counselors appeared to be high school–aged and, in my experience, did not demonstrate training in de-escalation or working with neurodivergent children. Additionally, my son was permitted extended naps during the day, which disrupted his nighttime sleep and created challenges at home. I understand that camps must prioritize safety and structure. However, families of children with ADHD or other neurodivergent needs should carefully evaluate whether this camp is equipped — and willing — to provide appropriate support before enrolling.
We sent our two boys to St. Mark’s Summer Camp this year and they had a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, organized, and made sure every camper felt included. Each day was filled with fun activities, from sports to creative projects, and our kids came home excited to share what they did. The campus is beautiful and well-maintained, and the counselors really made a positive impact. We’ll definitely be considering St. Mark’s again for future summers!
