It runs both day camp and overnight camp for ages 6-17: overnight weeks for ages 6-12 include horseback riding and kayaking, and a Teen Week for ages 13-14 adds high ropes. The camp emphasizes outdoor adventure, safety and character growth, and also rents its facility to groups.

Our kids totally loved SJYC! For our daughter its her second year and our son went for his first time. They can`t wait to go back. Such a great environment with good people.

Camp has been such a happy place for me. This year was my 10th year at camp, and I look forward coming back to this place every single year. The amount of effort it takes for camp to be running every year is under appreciated, and I have loved giving campers the same experience I had as a camper!

I love this place it’s like a second home for me. I look forward to it every year and I literally cry when I have to leave because everybody is so welcoming and loving and when I’m going through a hard time i always think about camp and it makes me feel so much better. I wish I could be there year round. The first time I went to camp I was 12 and I was so scared and crying but I had an amazing time and have come back every single year. Now I am a counselor and I have bonded with staff and a bunch of other counselors and I made memories and friendships that I will forever cherish. This place is my favorite place in the entire world.

I’ve been a camper and counselor for some time now and I love it. St joes has a special place in my heart because it’s given me lasting memories, loads of fun, and tons of lifelong friends. As a camper the staff were inviting, friendly, and enthusiastic and so were the counselors. Now being a counselor myself I’m so glad I get to contribute to the welcoming and friendly environment of camp and help the kids have the most fun possible as they get to enjoy themselves on the amazing campgrounds.

I have been a camper, a counselor, a program specialist, and a program director over the last ten years, so maybe I'm biased. However, my time at St Joe's helped me to become confident in myself, respectful of nature, and form a family that has grown with me. Kids have a chance to beat the heat, loose the technology, and have a place to be silly without the stresses of school expectations. I have watched shy kids get off the bus on Sunday, break out of their shell by Tuesday, and be making plans to see campers again next year Saturday morning. Send a kid to camp, they might just never leave.
