Great facility with tons of great courts, pool, indoor track and gym, but the staff is incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. I don't know if the management changed recently but it is not an enjoyable experience.

The facility is clean and well-maintained, and there’s a solid variety of equipment for all fitness levels, whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or group classes. I also appreciate the range of programs they offer, from fitness classes to youth and family activities, which makes it a great place for everyone—not just individuals.

I joined the Y when it was the health plex. The Y took over adding all new equipment and lowered the monthly fee. The staff is great! This place has become my second home. It's a great place to join, plenty of activities, especially basketball leagues that I play in. I love the Springfield Y!

Oh my how the mighty have fallen. Holes in the walls, tiles missing in the bathroom, tape holding carpets together. Trash and profiliactics in the parking lot. I get that it is attached to a now dead hospital, but that’s no excuse for just being outright dirty and in disrepair. The Haverford Y has twice the membership count (at least) and is 10x as clean. I honestly wonder if they have any cleaning or maintenance crew at all at this point. Very apparent that they aren’t long for this world. Will be shut down within a year or two guaranteed.

I’ve been a member at this YMCA for over three years and pay the full family membership fee ($130/month) on auto-pay. Last week, I dropped my daughter off at Child Watch at 11:30 a.m. and was supposed to pick her up at 12:30 p.m. While using the sauna and cold plunge, I lost track of time. There is a camera right next to the cold plunge. At about 12:50 p.m., an employee came to tell me I was late. I immediately acknowledged the mistake, showered quickly, and picked my daughter up from the front desk at 1:00 p.m. — about 30 minutes late. I fully admit I messed up. However, the front desk manager told me I am banned from using Child Watch for six months. When I said that felt excessive given my clean record and long membership, she said DHS could have been called. My child was safe and supervised the entire time, and I picked her up promptly once notified. As a person of color, experiences like this raise concerns about whether discretion and proportionality are applied equally to everyone. I’m not accusing anyone of intent, but the response felt unnecessarily harsh and escalatory for a first-time mistake, and it left a bad impression. Overall, this was disappointing and made me question the fairness and culture of this location.
