The Springer Theatre Academy is the youth training conservatory of the Springer Opera House in Columbus, serving students ages 5-18 in one of the country's larger young-actor programs. Summer Academy places students by most recently completed grade level and is open to new and returning students; tuition runs roughly $100 to $585 depending on age group and session length. Classes are held in the Springer, an 1871 National Historic Landmark and the State Theatre of Georgia.

The cast was so talented and professional. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen since the original Wiz with Stephanie Mills on Broadway in NYC when I was a little girl. Some great regional shows come through every year. Would also advise those with young children (or those of any age) to check out the black box theatre for smaller children’s shows.
