Spokane Rapids, formerly the Spokane Valley Junior Soccer Association, is a nonprofit that provides affordable recreational soccer for greater Spokane youth year-round and runs School's Out summer soccer camps. The camps are open to players of all ages and skill levels and teach game strategy, foot skills and teamwork; three week-long sessions run in late June/July and August at Plante's Ferry Sports Complex, which the club maintains and operates. Each day runs 9:00am to 11:00am with 8:45am check-in at the concessions and 11:00am check-out, so this is a short morning session rather than workday coverage. Camp is for U5-U14, costs $100 and includes a T-shirt; campers bring their own ball, shin guards and water.

★★★Joe DoroshAlright recreational league with nice grounds. I'm not sure why they have the rec league play Select teams, but maybe the Select teams pay them to play the beginner kids. Most games were close in skill and scoring, and then you had the complete blow outs from the Select teams. The coaches were great, but the advanced team involvement seemed suspect and the games rules from the referees were inconsistent.

You can be a little disorganized on game days but usually everything comes out fine in the end. As a cheaper alternative to sysa, I would recommend them for your kids. You can also participate as a coach and assistant coach and get a discount for your child's fees.
